Like every client, the owners of this magnificent upcoming Brooklyn residence came to us with a typical list of “must-haves” and “wants.” However, the design process took a beautiful turn as we learned more about who they are.
The double-height study
Early on, we discovered that our client — besides being a huge baal tzedakah — is also a world-renowned speaker and an accomplished talmid chacham. Our first round of design featured a standard-sized sforim room. But after finding out through a third party that he spends a significant portion of his day sitting and learning, we knew we had to elevate the space.
We reimagined it entirely, creating a stunning, airy, double-height study. For ultimate convenience during early mornings and late nights, we even incorporated a private door connecting directly to the second-level master suite, so he has immediate access to the study without needing to traverse the rest of the house.
A dining room for others
Another major feature of this home is the phenomenal dining room. This extraordinary family needed a space capable of accommodating the many events and guests they frequently host. The result is a breathtaking dining space that functions as a mini ballroom — designed completely for others, allowing them to beautifully be mekayem the mitzvah of hachnasas orchim.
